Your Family Deserves Whole-Grain Nutrition
As a parent, you pack snacks, lunches, and prep dinners in a never-ending quest to prioritize your child's nutritional intake. With all you do, you still notice improvements you could make to improve your kids' access to whole-foods and wonder if there's more you can do. You may have even purchased a grain mill because you know your kids could benefit from the nutritional benefits of whole grains.
When you serve plant-based, whole-food meals, you help your child regulate digestion. They take advantage of energy they didn't have access to in pre-packaged and processed meals. When they eat a meal you prepared, mood improves, energy is restored and most importantly the loving bond your child has with you steadily increases.
Imagine your kids enjoying whole wheat pancakes made with flour you milled this morning. Imagine them biting into a slice of your homemade bread for a post-school snack. Imagine making the occasional fresh pasta for a special family gathering on a Sunday afternoon. You have the power to change the nutrition around you and feed your family food that has actual nutritional value. You won’t win on every meal but now you have the playbook for their future nutritional success.
Our Story
We started Plain Grains because we won the lottery. First, we grew up on a farm and second, Mom and Dad prioritized nutrition over convenience. At school, our friends would beg for our homemade sandwiches only to discard the toppings to enjoy Mom's bread in its purest form. Freshly-baked, warm, bread with butter and honey after school was routine. Dad’s whole wheat banana pancakes with maple syrup were enjoyed daily while Mom’s grain mill doubled as our alarm clock in the morning. As siblings, we formed bonds and learned to work with each other, helping mom make her famous whole wheat bread. Our parent's energy, focus and determination were built on whole-grain nutrition. We started plaingrains.com to give you a direct connection to the wheat berries we were raised on. We hope you enjoy our natural grains as much as we do!
Our Commitments
Glyphosate-Free
Glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in modern agriculture, and its presence in our food supply is something we take seriously. Every grain we source is tested and verified Glyphosate-Free.
Non-GMO
All of our grains are Non-GMO. We work with farmers who grow traditional and ancient varieties, the same wheat berries that have fed communities for generations.
Our Process
After harvest, our grains are carefully cleaned, sorted, and packaged to preserve their freshness and nutritional integrity. We keep things simple on purpose — no unnecessary additives, no bleaching, no enriching.
Our grains are meant to be milled at home, giving you flour that's fresher than anything you'll find on a grocery store shelf. Whether you're making sourdough, pancakes, grain bowls, salads, or cereals, fresh wheat berries make a difference you can taste.
Join Our Community
Plain Grains is more than a grain company — it's a growing community of people who believe that real food starts with real ingredients. We share recipes, milling tips, farm stories, and the occasional adventure on our blog. We'd love for you to be part of it.
Whether you're a seasoned home miller or just starting to explore whole grains, you belong here.
